The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 59 in Easton. This project is scheduled to occur on Sunday, June 15 and be completed on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. The project DOT01730543CN consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.10-mile segment of Route 59 in Easton from 0.05 miles south of Old Oak Road to Route 136 (Westport Road). This project is scheduled to begin milling by A & J Construction on Sunday, June 15 to Friday June 20, 2025. The resurfacing segment of this project by O & G is anticipated to begin on Tuesday, June 24 to Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
This project is included in CTDOT’s 2025 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 59 from 0.05 miles south of Old Oak Road to Route 136 (Westport Road) in Easton. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
