The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 53 in Weston. This project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, June 3 and be completed on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Project DOT01730543CN consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.99-mile segment of Route 53 in Weston from 0.01 miles north of Valley Forge Road to 0.01 miles north of the Redding town line. The milling segment of this project by A & J Construction is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 3 to Thursday June 5, 2025. The resurfacing segment of this project by O & G is anticipated to begin on Sunday, June 8 to Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
This project is included in CTDOT’s 2025 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 53 from 0.01 miles north of Valley Forge Road to 0.01 miles north of the Redding town line in Weston. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
