Milling and Resurfacing on Route 44 in Coventry

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 44 in Coventry. This project is scheduled to occur on Sunday, June 8, 2025 and be completed on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

Project DOT01710506CN “A” consists of milling and resurfacing a 5.74-mile segment of Route 44 in Coventry from the Bolton/Coventry Town Line to the Coventry/Mansfield Town Line.

This milling segment of the project by Rafferty Fine Grading is scheduled to begin on Sunday, June 8, 2025 to Sunday, June 22, 2025. The resurfacing segment of this project by American Industries is anticipated to begin on Monday, June 30, 2025, to Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

This project is included in CTDOT’s 2025 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

 

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 44 in Coventry from the Bolton/Coventry Town Line to the Coventry/Mansfield Town Line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for the milling project is from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sunday to Friday.  The work schedule for the paving project is from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
