The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) southbound in Hamden. This project is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, October 1 and be completed by Wednesday, October 15, 2025. The project DOT01730543CN consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.16-mile segment of Route 15 southbound in Hamden from 0.16 miles north of the overpass for Connolly Parkway to the median crossover just prior to Heroes Tunnel. This project is being performed by Waters Construction.
This project is included in CTDOT’s 2025 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) southbound from the Exit 61 on-ramp to the entrance to the Heroes Tunnel in Hamden. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns and state troopers will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
