The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a roadway milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 12 in Putnam and Thompson. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, April 21 and be completed on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Project No.DOT01720536CN “B” consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.58-mile segment of Route 12 from the junction of Route 44 (School Street) in Putnam to 0.06 mi. south of the southbound access to I-395 in Thompson. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty Fine Grading Inc. on Monday, April 21 to Friday, April 25, 2025. The resurfacing segment of this project by All States Construction is anticipated to begin on Monday, April 28 to Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
This project is included in CTDOT’s 2025 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 12 from the junction of Route 44 (School Street) in Putnam to 0.06 mi. south of the southbound access to I-395 in Thompson. Traffic control personnel, crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
