The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 106 in Darien and New Canaan. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, July 28 and be completed on Monday, August 18, 2025. The project DOT01730543CN consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.28-mile segment of Route 106 in Darien and New Canaan from the Stamford/Darien town line to the Route 15 southbound Exit 36 off-ramp. This project is scheduled to begin milling by A & J Construction on Monday, July 28 to Tuesday, August 5, 2025. The resurfacing segment of this project by O & G is anticipated to begin on Tuesday, August 5 to Monday, August 18, 2025.
This project is included in CTDOT’s 2025 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 106 from the Stamford/Darien town line to the Route 15 southbound Exit 36 off-ramp in Darien and New Canaan. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
