The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 1 in New Haven. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, August 18 and be completed on Monday, September 15, 2025. The project DOT01730543CN consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.81-mile segment of Route 1 in New Haven from Olive Street to Route 337 (Townsend Ave). This project is scheduled to begin milling by Tilcon on Monday, August 18 to Wednesday, August 27, 2025. The resurfacing segment of this project by Tilcon is anticipated to begin on Tuesday, September 2 to Monday September 25, 2025.
This project is included in CTDOT’s 2025 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 1 from Olive Street to Route 337 (Townsend Ave). Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
