The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the metalizing of the Route 254 bridge over Waterbury Road in Thomaston. This work is scheduled to occur on Thursday, June 5 and be completed on Monday, July 14, 2025. The project 0140-0178 consists of metallizing 11 bridges in Thomaston and Litchfield.
CTDOT Project No. 0140-0178 was awarded to Blast All Inc. at a cost of $17,357,810.70 on December 31, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 4 in Thomaston.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
From Thursday, June 5 to Monday, July 14, 2025, a lane closure will occur switching traffic from two lanes to one lane alternating traffic on Waterbury Road. Traffic control signing patterns and temporary traffic signals will guide motorists through the work zone. Temporary traffic barriers and sand barrel arrays are installed to delineate the traffic pattern and work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
