The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that I-95 southbound and northbound in East Lyme will be closed intermittently beginning December 17-19, 2025, for ledge blasting. I-95 southbound and northbound will be closed, up to twice a day between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for 5-10 minutes for each blast. This work will resume in early January 2026 and may last up to 6 weeks.
Motorists are encouraged to remain on the highway as the closures are anticipated to be short in duration, however, motorists can seek alternate routes. Please note that the start of these closures can change at any time based on weather or resources.
Travelers can sign up for text message alerts of blasting operations. Instructions can be found on the project website, Sign Up for Alerts | I95 East Lyme (i-95eastlyme.com) or text "BLAST" to 860-404-9995 to receive text messages for blasting operations.
