The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that multiple lanes on I-84 eastbound and westbound in Waterbury will need to be closed during overnight hours from Tuesday, May 27, 2025, to Friday, June 27, 2025. The project consists of the rehabilitation of bridges within the Route 8 and I-84 Interchange.
The project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 4 in Thomaston.

Multiple lanes on I-84 eastbound and westbound will need to be closed from Tuesday, May 27
to Friday, June 27, 2025. Lanes closures will occur on Sunday through Friday beginning at 8:00 p.m. and continue for several hours. All lanes will reopen by 6:00 a.m. Motorists are advised that these lane closures may cause significant delays. Traffic control signing patterns, and the State Police will help guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
