The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that culvert relining will be performed on Route 6 eastbound between Mansfield Avenue and Mansfield City Road in Mansfield. This project is scheduled to occur on Friday, September 5, 2025, and be completed on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The project 0077-0244 consists of constructing temporary and permanent retaining walls to provide access to the culvert, cleaning and repairing the existing culvert, then installing a new aluminum pipe arch liner.
CTDOT Project No. 0077-0244 was awarded to Suchocki & Son, Inc. at a cost of $2,318,723.60 on July 22, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed August 18, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Route 6 eastbound will be reduced from 2 lanes of travel to 1 lane throughout the project site from approximately September 10, 2025, to early August 2026. Traffic control signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone.
