Closure of Miller Street Access to Route 9 Southbound in Middletown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the closure of Miller Street access on Route 9 southbound just north of the Arrigoni Bridge in Middletown. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, April 7, 2025. Project 0082-0322 consists of permanently closing Miller Street access from Route 9 southbound.

CTDOT Project No. 0082-0322 was awarded to NJR Construction, LLC at a cost of $1,237,295.00 on December 28, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed April 24, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There will be intermittent shoulder closures on Route 9 southbound in Middletown from Monday to Friday, April 7 to April 18, 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Traffic control signing patterns with uniformed police will guide motorists through the work zone.

Following this work, Miller Street will no longer have access directly to Route 9. Local traffic will be required navigate west near Saint John Roman Catholic Church.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
