The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing bridge work will be performed on North Main Street (Route 8) in Thomaston, on the south side of the bridges. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, April 28 and be completed on Monday, June 30, 2025. Project 0140-0178 consists of metallizing 11 bridges along Route 8 in Thomaston and Litchfield.
CTDOT Project No. 0140-0178 was awarded to Blast All Inc. at a cost of $17,357,810.70 on 12/31/2023 and is scheduled to be completed 11/30/2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 4 in Thomaston.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
From Monday, April 28 to Monday, June 30, 2025, a stage shift will occur switching traffic from the eastbound lane to the westbound lane, maintaining alternating one-way traffic on North Main Street. Traffic control signing patterns and temporary traffic signals will guide motorists through the work zone. Temporary traffic barriers and sand barrel arrays are installed to delineate the traffic pattern and work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
