The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT is announcing that a bridge replacement will commence on I-95 over First Avenue and Bridge 00162 carrying I-95 over Metro North Railroad. This work activity is scheduled to occur on Tuesday May 27, 2025, and be completed on July 22, 2027. Project 0156-0181 consists of the replacement of Bridge 00161 carrying I-95 over First Avenue and Bridge 00162 carrying I-95 over Metro North Railroad.
CTDOT Project No. 0156-0181 was awarded to The Middlesex Corporation with H&H, LLC, at a cost of $96,688,000 on August 25, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed in June 2027. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 3 in New Haven.

Motorists can expect various lane closures in both the north and southbound directions on I-95 over First Avenue and Bridge 00162 carrying I-95 over Metro North Railroad for the duration of the project. Traffic control personnel and Connecticut State Troopers will guide motorists through the work zones.
