The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing repairs to Route 190, Bridge No. 01282 over I-91 in Enfield. This project is scheduled to occur during evenings beginning on Monday, July 7, and be tentatively completed by Friday, August 15, 2025. This work consists of straightening the fascia girder over I-91 northbound lanes, replacing associated steel, repainting repair areas, and repairing the bearing pedestal where the girder is fixed on the pier. This will be performed by using single, multiple lane, and shoulder closures on northbound I-91 and closure of the Route 190 east to I-91 north ramp during working hours.
CTDOT Project No. 0048-0203 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast, Inc. on November 25, 2024, and is expected to be completed by August 15, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be shoulder and various lane closures as needed on Route 190 and I-91 northbound from Monday night, July 7 to Friday, August 15, 2025, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns, and police will guide motorists through the work zone.
The Route 190 eastbound to I-91 northbound off-ramp will be detoured via continuing east on Route 190 (Hazard Avenue) to Phoenix Avenue, right on Phoenix Avenue, follow Phoenix Avenue southbound to Rosario T. Vella Avenue, left on Rosario T. Vella Avenue, follow Rosario T. Vella Avenue eastbound to Freshwater Boulevard, left on Freshwater Blvd., follow Freshwater Blvd. northbound to Route 190 (Hazard Avenue), left on Route 190 (Hazard Avenue), follow Route 190 (Hazard Avenue) to I-91 northbound on-ramp.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
