The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that the phase 2 demolition of superstructure for railroad Bridge No. 00600R will be performed on West Main Street (State Road) in Waterbury. The work consists of demolition of structural steel using cranes, excavators and other large equipment.
CTDOT Project No. 0170-3320 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast Inc at a cost of $10,185,146.40 on January 24, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed July 19, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 5 in New Haven.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
West Main Street will be closed from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21 to 5:00 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2024. There will be no access west or eastbound through West Main Street at the intersections of Sperry Street and Thomaston Ave. Detours will be set up to redirect traffic in accordance to attached plans. Municipal police will guide motorist around the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
