Wrong Way Detection Installation on I-95 Northbound Exit Ramp to Route 1 South (Colman Street) in New London

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a wrong way detection installation will be performed at the I-95 northbound exit ramp to Route 1 South (Colman Street) in New London. The nighttime project work is scheduled for Wednesday evening, March 27 to Thursday morning, March 28, 2024. The rain date will be Thursday evening, March 28 to Friday morning, March 29, 2024.

RAMP CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect a temporary exit ramp closure to occur at the I-95 northbound exit ramp to Route 1 South (Colman Street) in New London. Traffic will be detoured to the Briggs Street exit ramp, take a left onto Briggs Street, and go over I-95, take a left onto the Frontage Road on ramp and follow Frontage Road back to Colman Street. Variable message boards will be set approximately one (1) week prior to the start of this project. Crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The nighttime work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
