The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a tree removal operation will require the closure of the right lane on Route 15 north and southbound in Orange and Milford starting Monday, July 29, 2024. To ensure the safety of the public, CTDOT is removing dead, diseased, and decaying trees. Additionally, trees and vegetation that have grown into the clear zone, which is the safety space along the side of the roadway, are also being removed. This work helps save lives in the event of a crash or vehicle leaving the roadway. The tree removal operation will be performed in Milford and Orange on the northbound side of Rt.15 and Orange and Milford on the southbound side of Rt.15. The work is scheduled to occur Monday July 29 through Friday September 6, 2024.
The tree removal operation will be performed by J & J Bros, LLC.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect right lane closure to occur on Route 15 northbound in Milford and Orange between Exit 54 (Milford Connector) and Exit 58 (Rt.34 Derby Ave.) and Rt.15 southbound in Orange and Milford between Exit 58 (Rt.34 Derby Ave.) and Exit 54 (Milford Connector). Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. No work will be performed from 6:00 a.m. Friday, August 30 through 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024, due to the Labor Day Holiday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
