The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing a scheduled traffic shift on East Main Street for the eastbound lanes between the Route 8 northbound Exit 39 on-ramp and the Route 8 southbound Exit 39 off-ramp, beginning June 27, 2024, in Thomaston.
This traffic shift is necessary for the cleaning and coating under the bridges between the two ramps to improve the safety of the ramps and to prevent falling debris.
CTDOT Project No. 0140-0178 was awarded to Blast All, Inc., at a cost of $17,357,810.70 on December 31, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed on November 30, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 4 in Thomaston.

The two lanes on the eastbound side on East Main Street will be closed and shifted onto the westbound side, with one lane in either direction.
