Rolling Roadblocks on Route 8 North and Southbound in Shelton

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that an Aerial Cable Maintenance Operation will require State Police to perform rolling roadblocks in both the north and southbound directions on Route 8 between exits 11 and 13 in Shelton starting Sunday, March 17, 2024. The Aerial Cable Maintenance Operation will be performed in Shelton on the southbound side of Route 8 between exits 13 (Bridgeport Avenue) and exit 11 (Bridgeport Avenue) and on the northbound side of Route 8 between Exit 11 (Huntington Road) and Exit 13 (Constitution Blvd South). The work is scheduled to occur the morning of Sunday March 17, 2024.

The Aerial Cable Maintenance Operation will be performed by United Illuminating.

Motorists can expect rolling roadblocks to occur on Route 8 north and southbound in Shelton. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Route 8 south and northbound.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
