The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that an Aerial Cable Maintenance Operation will require the closure of the right lane on Route 8 Northbound between exits 11 (Huntington Road) and Exit 13 (Constitution Blvd. South, Bridgeport Ave.) and Route 8 Southbound between Exits 11 (Bridgeport Avenue) and Exit 13 (Bridgeport Avenue, Constitution Blvd.) in Shelton. The daytime work is scheduled to occur the days of Tuesday, April 23 and Wednesday, April 24, 2024. The rain date of this work is April 30 and May 1, 2024, if inclement weather.
The Aerial Cable Maintenance Operation will be performed by United Illuminating.

Motorists can expect right lane closures to occur on Route 8 north and southbound in Shelton. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The day work schedule for this project is from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Route 8 south and northbound.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
