Pavement Texturing on Route 9 in New Britain and I84 in Plainville

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a pavement texturing project will be performed on Route 9 in New Britain and Route 72/Interstate 84 in Plainville. This project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, November 5 and be completed on Friday, November 8, 2024. The project DOT01703602CN consists of pavement texturing Route 9 northbound in New Britain from the Chestnut Street overpass into Exit 37 to the Route 72 westbound merge also Interstate 84 westbound at the Crooked Street overpass into Route 72 westbound in Plainville. This project is scheduled to begin the pavement texturing by Skidabrader on Tuesday, November 5 to Friday, November 8, 2024.

 

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 9 northbound in New Britain from the Chestnut Street overpass into Exit 37 to the Route 72 westbound merge also Interstate 84 westbound at the Crooked Street overpass into Route 72 westbound in Plainville. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Tuesday to Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
