New Opening Date for Replacement of Bridge 02591 on Route 97 in Hampton

The Connecticut Department of Transportation CTDOT is announcing that the replacement of Bridge 02591 over Fuller Brook on Route 97 in Hampton will have a revised opening date of August 21, 2024. The original completion date for the road closure on Route 97 was scheduled to be August 18, 2024. At this time, the roadway will be reopened on August 21, 2024.

CTDOT Project No. 0062-0096 was awarded to New England Road, Inc. at a cost of $2,463,762.00 on September 25, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed November 12, 2024. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.

 

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Route 97 in Hampton will be closed starting May 13 to August 21, 2024. Traffic will be detoured and directed onto Route 44, then taken into Route 169, and finally onto Route 6 and vice versa. Traffic control signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
