The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) testing will be performed on Route 9 in the northbound and southbound directions in Middletown and Haddam. This testing is scheduled to occur on Friday night, October 4 and be completed on Monday night, October, 7, 2024.
Physical testing is being performed to evaluate the condition of the roadway as part of a potential future project.

The operation on Route 9 will be performed each night from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. starting Friday, October 4 and be completed on Monday night, October 7, 2024. This will be a moving operation with 3 Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMAs), and a police escort to help guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
