Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 139 in Branford and North Branford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 139 in Branford and North Branford. The project consists of milling and resurfacing 2.25 miles of Route 139 in Branford and North Branford.  This project is scheduled to occur Sunday, May 12 through Monday, June 3, 2024.  The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, May 12 through Monday, May 20, 2024.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Wednesday, May 22 through Monday, June 3, 2024.

No work will be performed from 6:00 am Friday, May 24 until 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 28, 2024, due to the Memorial Day Holiday.

This project is included in the CTDOT’s 2024 Vendor Resurfacing Program.  

LANE CLOSURE INFO 

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 139 from US-1 (East Main Street) Branford to Route 80 (Foxon Road) North Branford. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
