Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 5 in East Hartford and South Windsor

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on, Route 5 in East Hartford from Ranney Street to Route 30 (Ellington Road) and Route 30 in South Windsor from Rte. 5 to .02 miles east of the railroad crossing starting Monday, August 5, 2024. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty Fine Grading, Inc. on Monday August 5 to Wednesday, August 21, 2024. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Sunday, August 25 to Wednesday, September 18, 2024, by Galasso Materials.

This project is included in CTDOT’s 2024 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on, Route 5 in East Hartford from Ranney Street to Route 30 (Ellington Road) and Route in 30 South Windsor from Route 5 to .02 miles east of the Railroad crossing. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday – Thursday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
