The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 31 in Vernon starting on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. This project is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 4 and be completed on Thursday, September 19, 2024. The project DOT01710506CN consists of milling and resurfacing a .8-mile segment of Route 31 in Vernon from Route 71 (East Main Street) to Route 30 (Hartford Turnpike). This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty Fine Grading, Inc. on Wednesday, September 4 to Friday, September 6, 2024. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Sunday, September 15 to Thursday, September 19,2024 by Tilcon Connecticut
This project is included in CTDOT’s 2024 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 31 from Route 71 (East Main Street) to Route 30 (Hartford Turnpike) in Vernon. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from Wednesday, September 4 to Thursday, September 19, 2024, 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday – Thursday.
