The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 197 in Woodstock. This project is scheduled to occur Friday, September 6 and be completed on Monday, October 14, 2024.The project DOT01720536CN “D“ consists of milling and resurfacing a 5.36-mile segment of Route 197 in Woodstock from the junction of Route 198 (Black Pond Road) to the junction of Route 169. This milling segment of this project will be performed by Rafferty Fine Grading on Friday, September 6. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Wednesday, September 25 through Monday, October 14, 2024, by All States Construction.
This project is included in CTDOT’s 2024 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 197 in Woodstock from the junction of Route 198 (Black Pond Road) to the junction of Route 169. Traffic control personnel, crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
