The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a guide rail upgrade project will be performed on Route 222 from the junction of Route 8 to Route 118 in Harwinton, Thomaston, and Plymouth starting Monday, July 22 through October 1, 2024, weather permitting. The project consists of upgrading existing guide rail systems to current standard systems on Route 222 north and south from the junction of Route 8 to Route 118. The upgrades are scheduled to begin on or about Monday, July 22 and continue through Tuesday October 1, 2024, weather permitting. No work to be performed on the Labor Day holiday.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 222. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
