Installation and Revision of Traffic Control Signals in Fairfield, Milford, Norwalk, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull, Wallingford, and Wilton

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that work activity on Route 106 (Wolf Pit Road) at Horseshoe Road & Range Road will start on May 20, 2024, in Fairfield, Milford, Norwalk, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull, Wallingford and Wilton.

CTDOT Project No. 0173-0510 was awarded to The NYCONN Corporation at a cost of $4,273,898.00 on August 21, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed on June 20, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 3 in New Haven.

The project consists of the installation of new traffic signals, mast arms, span poles, traffic controllers, concrete sidewalks & ramps, pedestrian signals, roadway crossing, trenching & backfilling, RMC, and the removal of existing traffic equipment.  These activities will be performing at the following intersections:

Fairfield:

Route 59 (Brooklawn Avenue and Stratfield Rd.) at Capitol Avenue and Collingwood Road

Milford:

I-95 Northbound Ramps at Plains Road

Norwalk:

Route 123 (Main Street) at Union Avenue

Shelton:

SR 714 (Bridgeport Avenue) at Old Stratford Road. and Commerce Road

SR 714 (Bridgeport Avenue) at Beard Sawmill Rd. and Mill Street

SR 714 (Bridgeport Avenue) at Long Hill Cross Road

Stratford:

Route 110/Route 113 (North Main Street) at Route 110 (East Main Street)

Trumbull:

Route 108 (Nichols Avenue) at SR 743 (Penny Avenue.) and Route 8/25 Northbound On-Ramp.

Wallingford:

Route 150 (South Broad Street) at railroad underpass.

Wilton:

Route 33 (Ridgefield Road) at Belden Hill Road and Lovers Lane.

Route 106 (Wolf Pit Road) at Horseshoe Road and Range Road.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

There will be intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Some intersections and side roads allow intermittent lane closures Saturday and Sunday between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.

At intersection No. 148-224, the Contractor will be permitted to close Route 150 to through traffic between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. for trenching activities under the bridge only.

Permitted closures during active work periods may restrict traffic to alternating one way traffic, with active traffic control, police or flagging personal.
