U.S. Route 5/Route 15 Coordinated Traffic Signal System (CTSS) and Connected Vehicle (CV) Technology – Phase 2 in Berlin and Meriden

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing revised lane closures for ongoing construction of new traffic signals on U.S. Route 5/Route 15 (Berlin Turnpike). The project’s allowable lane closures are being revised to allow the CTDOT’s contractor, Ferguson Electric Co., Inc., an additional half-hour (30 minutes) to perform daytime work in both directions of U.S. Route 5/Route 15 (Berlin Turnpike) Monday through Friday. This also permits work in both directions on Saturday.

The increased time is intended to reduce overall impacts to the travelling public by accelerating project completion. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 5/15, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. northbound (NB), 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. southbound (SB); and between 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. NB and SB. Lane closures will also be allowed between 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. NB and SB on Saturdays.
