The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is starting the second phase of three projects designed to improve traffic flow at I-91/I-691/ Route 15 Interchange northbound in Meriden beginning on March 4, 2024. The purpose of this project is to address traffic operational and safety concerns associated with capacity, congestion, and weaving along Route 15 and I-91 in the northbound direction, as well as capacity deficiencies on the Route 15 northbound off-ramp to I-691 westbound and on the mainline of I-691 westbound.
CTDOT Project No. 0079-0246 was awarded to O&G Industries at a cost of $185,000,000 on January 29, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2028. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Division of Construction Operations, District 1 in Rocky Hill, CT.
