The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that there will be high friction surface treatments on Routes 71, 157, 178, 217, 220, 510, 533, 534, and 85 in Berlin, Bloomfield, Bolton, East Windsor, Enfield, Meriden, Middletown, and Vernon beginning July 22, 2024. The project consists of high friction surface treatment (HFST) application and removal/installation of pavement markings at horizontal curves on State-owned and maintained roads.
CTDOT Project No. 0171-0505 was awarded to Waters Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of $3,286,014.20 on June 14, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed April 26, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.
