Guide Rail Upgrade Project on Route 72 in Harwinton
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a guide rail upgrade project will be performed on Route 72 in Harwinton from Route 4 to Reservoir Road starting Thursday, May 9, 2024. The project consists of upgrading existing guide rail systems to current standard systems on Route 72 north and southbound from Route 4 to the Reservoir Road. The upgrades are scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 9, and continue through Friday, May 31, 2024, weather permitting.
No work will be performed on the Memorial Day holiday.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 72 in Harwinton north and southbound from Route 4 to the Reservoir Road. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
