The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a guide rail upgrade will be performed on Route 2 east and westbound in Norwich. This project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, and be completed on Friday, January 17, 2025. Project, No. DOT01703718CN consists of upgrading the guide rail on Route 2 east and westbound, from Route 32 to Service Route 642 (West Town Street) in Norwich.
This project is being performed by Eagle Fence and Guardrail.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be right lane and shoulder closures on Route 2 east and westbound, from Route 32 to State Route 642 (West Town Street) in Norwich from Tuesday, December 3, 2024, to Friday, January 17, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).
Holiday Restrictions
Work will end at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20 and will resume at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024, due to the Christmas Day holiday.
Work will end at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, and will resume at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, due to the New Year’s Day holiday.
One (1) State trooper, traffic control signing patterns and crash attenuator vehicles will guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
