The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that there will be daytime lane closures on I-691 eastbound between Exit 1B (to Rt 15 southbound and I-91 southbound) and Exit 1A (to I-91 northbound) in Meriden. This project is scheduled to occur on Saturday, October 5 through Sunday October 6, 2024. The project 0079-0245 consists of lane closures to facilitate installation of concrete waterproofing on three bridges decks in the I-91/I-691/Rt 15 Interchange. After the waterproofing membrane is installed the bridge decks will be paved for the winter.
CTDOT Project number 0079-0245 was awarded to O&G Industries at a cost of $66 million on November 1, 2022, and is scheduled to be completed by October 18, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill, CT.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be a single lane closure on I-691 eastbound between Exit 1B (to Rt 15 southbound and I-91 southbound) and Exit 1A (to I-91 northbound) from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday October 5 and 6, 2024. Traffic control signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
