The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing a temporary closure of the Maple Street On-ramp (Ramp 5C) in East Hartford to Route 2 Westbound (Hartford) from Sunday night, April 21, until Friday, April 26, 2024, weather permitting. This closure is being implemented to provide increased safety to the traveling public while facilitating construction work on CTDOT Project number 0042-0317.
The contract was awarded to Empire Paving a cost of $61,786,112.84 on April 5, 2021, with an anticipated completion date of August 16, 2024. This project is administered by the Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.
DETOUR
The detour route for the Maple Street on-ramp to Route 2 westbound will be as follows:
- Travel westbound on Maple Street
- Turn right on Main Street and continue north
- Turn left onto Brewer Street
- Turn left onto High Street
- Quick right onto Route 2 Westbound on-ramp towards Hartford
