2024 Pavement Preservation Program in Orange, Woodbridge, New Haven, Darien, and Norwalk

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the start of a pavement preservation program to improve the existing wearing surface and extend the life of the pavement on Route 15 and Interstate 95 in Orange, Woodbridge, New Haven, Darien, and Norwalk starting on April 8, 2024. Route 15 project limits extend from mile point 39.55 to 47.11 in Orange, Woodbridge, and New Haven.  Interstate 95 project limits extend from mile point 10.68 to 16.08 in Darien and Norwalk. Traffic signal detection systems will be upgraded at two intersections in Darien and one intersection in Norwalk.

CTDOT Project No. 0173-0540 was awarded to Tilcon Connecticut Inc of New Britain, CT on February 23, 2024, for $18,861,960.00 with an official start date of April 8, 2024. The project is expected to be completed in December 2024. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 3 in New Haven.

LANE CLOSURE

Nighttime lane closures on I-95

  • Weekdays from Exit 10 to 16 between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

    Nighttime lane closures on Route 15

  • Exit 56 to Exit 59 between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

    Lane closures on I-95 and Route 15 Ramps

  • Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

DETOUR INFO

Construction will require various ramp closures on I-95 and Route 15 and detour traffic starting at 8:00 p.m. and concluding at 6:00 a.m. the following day. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized when needed to guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions and seek alternate routes.
