Fleet Vehicle Training for In-Scope Agencies

Person Training

Fleet Vehicle Training Overview

As of December 2024, all employees of agencies within the scope of the state's human resources centralization efforts who operate DAS fleet vehicles are required to complete a driver safety training course.

In July 2025, the General Letter 115 (GL 115) Driver Training v2.0 was released and includes an overview of GL 115 and the Just Once Choice defensive driving course.

The estimated completion time is one hour.

Employees who previously took the General Letter 115 & State-Owned Vehicle Driver training in 2024 or 2025 are required to complete refresher training starting in 2026. DAS Fleet Operations will provide further details on refresher training later this year.

The following in-scope employees are required to complete the GL 115 Driver Training v2.0:

  1. Any new employee who is expects to operate a DAS fleet vehicle, or
  2. Any existing employee whose job duties have changed to include operation of a DAS fleet vehicle.

The training provided on this page is designed for employees of in-scope agencies. Before you begin the training, you must verify that your agency displays on the below list.

Employees with a CT.gov or cttech.org email address must use LinkedIn Learning to complete this training.

In order to fulfil training requirements, employees without a state-issued email address must complete both the Just One Choice training and the GL-115 Overview training.

The GL 115 Driver Training v2.0 guides learners through the following components:

  • The GL 115 Overview.
  • The registration process and viewing of the Just One Choice video.
  • A training completion confirmation process completed either on the UKG Employee Portal or Microsoft Forms.

Agency transportation administrator training

In addition to the driver training, agency heads and agency transportation administrators (ATAs) are required to complete two additional training courses, totaling approximately one hour.
