1. What do you do? I am an Accounts Examiner intern for Internal Audit. 2. Why do you work for the State of Connecticut? I wanted to help create a positive impact for my communities while simultaneously developing new skills for my career. My favorite part of my job is that I enjoy being encouraged to think of alternative solutions and questions that aid my tasks. 4. What are some of your favorite activities outside of work? Outside of work, I am currently finishing my undergraduate program. I participate on a competitive cheer team, and I love hiking with my husband. 5. Where is your favorite place that you have traveled? My favorite place that I have traveled to is Charleston, South Carolina 6. What would you tell someone who is interested in working for the state? There is a strong and supportive community that encourages growth and success. 7. Where is your favorite place in Connecticut? My favorite place in Connecticut is the rose garden in Norwich. 8. If you could choose one superpower, what would it be, and why? I would choose to teleport because I want to be able to visit back home to Illinois without the fifteen-hour drive! 9. Who inspires you and why? My old band teacher, Mr. Jansen, inspires me because he was one of the first educators that highly encouraged me to take my own path and helped me become more motivated to work towards my goals. 10. Tell us your favorite fun fact. Giraffes have seven neck vertebrae just like humans! They’re just supersized. |

1. What do you do? I work in Internal Audit as an Accounts Examiner Intern. I chose to work for the State of Connecticut because I thought it would be a great place to start my career in accounting. Since starting here, I’ve been given significant guidance and support. I have no doubt I made the right decision. My favorite part of the job is collaborating with other team members to get different opinions on my work. My favorite activities outside of work are reading, biking, hiking, hanging out with friends, playing basketball and skateboarding. My favorite place that I have traveled to is Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I would tell someone who is interested in working for the state that it is a very friendly environment with great people. 7. Where is your favorite place in Connecticut? My favorite place in Connecticut is Waterford Beach. 8. If you could choose one superpower, what would it be, and why? I would choose superspeed so I can get to places where I need to be faster than driving. 9. Who inspires you and why? My father inspires me because he immigrated here from Ireland and put himself through college to become a civil engineer. He is the most hardworking person I know. 10. Tell us your favorite fun fact. Bats aren’t actually blind. Bats have keen eyesight but rely on echolocation because they are nocturnal, and it is dark when they hunt. |
