1. What do you do?
As a Contract Analyst in Procurement, I provide support to Contract Specialists who procure goods and services for the state. I assist with reviewing contracts, analyzing data, evaluations, and organizing files. I am the lead on the states Amazon Business account, manage all web-based content for procurement, and oversee procurement records retention. I also continue to provide administrative support to our leadership team, juggling calendars, ordering supplies, and making sure our efforts are result driven.

2. Why do you work for the State of Connecticut?
There is something incredibly rewarding about knowing that the work I do helps support the systems and services that the people of Connecticut rely on every day. Plus, the variety of roles and challenges keeps things interesting! It’s a place where I can use my skills, keep learning, and make a meaningful difference.

3. What do you love about your job so far?
I love the work-life balance and the opportunities for continued growth and learning. Ultimately, what I cherish most about my job are the business relationships and personal friendships I have made.

4. What are some of your favorite activities outside of work?
My favorite things to do include camping, going to the beach, reading, attending CT Sun basketball games with my dad, eating good food, and traveling. On weekends you can find me enjoying the outdoors, spending quality time with family and friends.

5. Where is your favorite place that you have traveled?
It is impossible to choose just one favorite destination, as each place I've visited offers its own unique history and culture, all of which I deeply appreciate and enjoy experiencing. Some of my top favorites include St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, and Belize.

6. What would you tell someone who is interested in working for the state?
I encourage people to apply all the time! I applied on a whim, and I left a job I loved to work here. I have no regrets. There are plenty of opportunities and it is a great place to work. Fill out an application!

7. Where is your favorite place in Connecticut?
I am fortunate to live in Waterford, and I truly love this area of the state. We have a beautiful beach and foster a wonderful sense of community. Waterford is only 15 minutes from Mystic, my second favorite, known for its quaint shops and five-star restaurants.

8. If you could choose one superpower, what would it be, and why?
I would find a cure for cancer and make it easily accessible to everyone. I’m sure that everyone reading this understands and can relate to the 'why' behind that goal.

9. Who inspires you and why?
This is the easiest of all of the questions for me. My daughter, Taylor, inspires me beyond measure. Wise beyond her years, she motivates me in ways that words can't fully capture. At only 26 years old she is a successful Speech and Language Pathologist, a single homeowner (in this economy!) and my very best friend. Taylor embodies strength, kindness, and abundant success, and she makes me strive to be better every day.

10. Tell us your favorite fun fact.
There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on earth.
