DAS and the Big E!

You probably knew that the Big E is a ton of fun, but did you know that DAS plays a major role in making sure it goes off without a hitch? For decades, DAS teams have been responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, setup, and renovation of the state-owned Connecticut building.

Yesterday morning, Commissioner Gilman toured the building as the team from DAS, as well as our sister agencies, the Department of Economic and Community Development, and the Department of Agriculture put the finishing touches on the Connecticut building.

This year, the building – plus the auxiliary tent – will host vendors from across the state, showcasing the best of what Connecticut has to offer, including food, apparel, beer, wine, and much more. This is made possible by the hard work of DAS staff, who spend the weeks leading up to the fair making sure the space is ready to accommodate more than 1 million expected visitors over the next three weeks.

If you plan on visiting the Big E this year, please be sure to stop by the Connecticut building and say hello to the DAS team!
