Welcome to the webpage for Replacement of Bridge Nos. 03129, 03130, and 03131 carrying State and Local Roads over Interstate-91 in Wallingford

A hybrid public informational meeting for the project will was held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Wallingford Town Hall, Council Chambers, 45 South Main Street, Wallingford.

This meeting aimed to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions. The project involves the replacement of three bridge structures in Wallingford: Bridge No. 03129 – East Center Street (State Road 738), Bridge No. 03130 New Rock Hill Road, and Bridge No. 03131 – Durham Road over Interstate-91.

This project is being completed utilizing the Design-Build Contracting Method, in which the final design and construction are completed under one contract. The Design-Build Team consists of a Designer and Contractor working together to complete the project as a single entity under the oversight of the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT). The final design scope of work for this project will be based upon the approved submittal of the selected Design-Build Team.

Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are expected to be minor.

Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2028, depending on availability of funding, acquisition of right-of-way, and approval of permits. The current estimated construction cost is between $60-$90 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
