The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation.

The purpose of the project is to address the existing structural deficiencies and the substandard minimum vertical clearance of Bridge No. 00848. The most recent inspection report has been approved and this bridge is now considered to be in poor condition. This project will involve the complete replacement of Bridge No. 00848 using variable-depth web-steel-plate girders with a two-span-continuous superstructure supported by reinforced-concrete abutments and a center pier. The proposed superstructure for this alternative would have span lengths of 96’-0” feet each and consist of eight variable-depth steel-plate girders with a composite deck slab, 3-inch wearing surface and a 42-inch-high vertical shape parapet on the traffic side. The bridge would be widened to accommodate buffered bicycle lanes in each direction and a future sidewalk along the east side. Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.

Construction is anticipated to begin Summer 2025 based on the availability of funding and approval of permit(s).  The estimated construction cost for this project has been updated and is approximately $13,500,000. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
