Welcome to the webpage for Project 0301-0522, Union Station Platform Improvements in New Haven.

A hybrid public informational meeting for the project will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Ives Performing Arts Space, at the Ives Main Library at 133 Elm St. in New Haven. This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions.

The project involves installing a new canopy platform system that will provide full coverage for passengers while on the platforms. Supporting rail, power, and station utility improvements will be included, as well as supplementary improvements to the pedestrian tunnel, stairs, and elevators.

Right-of-way impacts are not expected.

Construction is anticipated to begin spring 2029 based on the availability of funding and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $402 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with federal funds and state funds.
