Welcome to the webpage for PP073-0018, Traffic Operational Improvements on Route 63 at Route 202 and Route 118 in Litchfield.
A public information meeting for the proposed project will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Litchfield Intermediate School, 35 Plumb Hill Road in Litchfield.
This meeting aims to discuss the existing conditions, discuss feasibility of solutions, and receive public feedback prior to project initiation. The proposed project is in the early stages of concept development. No funding has been identified, and no schedule has been determined. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation.
The work proposed involves improving safety around traffic operations and multiple connections on the Litchfield Green with:
- The installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Route 202 at Route 118 extension.
- Removal of the traffic signal at the intersection of Route 202 at Route 63 (South Street).
The addition of turn lanes on several roadways.
- The rerouting of Route 63 is also proposed to accommodate the alterations to traffic signal locations.
Right-of-way impacts are limited to realigning portions of existing sidewalk. No impacts to the existing Litchfield Green are anticipated.
