Welcome to the webpage for Project No. 0054-0087, Roundabout Improvements at Route 4 and Route 63 in Goshen.
An in-person public informational meeting for the project was held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Goshen Center School Gymnasium at 42 North St. in Goshen.
An open forum for individual discussions with project staff will begin at 6:30 p.m., with a formal presentation following at 7:00 p.m. This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions.
This project will upgrade the existing circular intersection to a modern roundabout to improve traffic operation and raise safety standards for all users. The entry alignments will be revised and raised splitter islands will be constructed on the approaches to reduce speed through the intersection. Crosswalks and sidewalks will be installed for pedestrian safety and connectivity.
The proposed improvements will require two sliver property acquisitions that will be used for the construction of the new roadway geometry and sidewalk. Minor rights and easements may also be required and will be added as the design develops.
Construction is anticipated to begin fall 2027 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $5 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
