Welcome to the webpage for Project 25-149, Drainage Improvements on Route 42 (North Brooksvale Road) in Cheshire.
A public information meeting for the project will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Norton School café/auditorium at 414 North Brooksvale Road in Cheshire. The meeting will begin as an open house at 6:00 p.m. where individuals can view project-related renderings and discuss any questions for the CTDOT project staff. A formal design presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.
This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions.
The purpose of the project is to replace the existing stormwater drainage system along the roadway due to inadequate capacity resulting in roadway flooding during larger storm events. Sidewalk curb ramps within the project limits will be reconstructed to meet ADA compliance.
The right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements include temporary construction easements, drainage easements, and partial property acquisitions to reconstruct sidewalks.
Construction is expected to start spring 2028, depending on available funding, right-of-way acquisition, and permits. The estimated cost is $5 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
