Project 0058-0342 Webpage
Welcome to the webpage for State Project No. 0058-0342, Replacement of Bridge No. 03665, Groton Long Point Road over Amtrak Railroad, in Groton.
A virtual public informational meeting for the project will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The recording of that event can be accessed at the CTDOT Virtual Public Information Meeting Video Library.
The purpose of the project is to address the existing structural deficiencies and the substandard minimum vertical clearance of Bridge No. 03665.
This project will involve the complete replacement of Bridge No. 03665. The replacement bridge would consist of a single-span superstructure supported by reinforced-concrete abutments. The new out-to-out width of the bridge would be 44’-1”. The proposed superstructure for this alternative would have a span length of 113’-0” feet and consist of seven steel rolled beams/plate girders with a composite deck slab, 3-inch wearing surface, and 42-inch-high vertical shape parapets on both sides.
Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project to the Amtrak Railroad Right-of-Way are anticipated.
Construction is anticipated to begin Fall 2026 based on the availability of funding and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $13,800,000.
