Project 0058-0343 Webpage

Welcome to the webpage for Project 0058-0343, rehabilitation of the Mystic River Bridge (Bridge No. 00362) carrying U.S. Route 1 over the Mystic River between Groton and Stonington.

A virtual public informational meeting (VPIM) for the project will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. 

The purpose of the project is to preserve the condition of the bridge, thus extending the useful life of the structure and maintaining the bridge in a state of good repair.

Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.

Construction is anticipated to begin Spring 2026 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s).  The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $1.5 Million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
